Flying Dodo at Bagatelle Mall, is the first and only craft brewery in Mauritius. Their whole brewing process is visible for all to see, so you know they are going to make awesome beers and boy are their brewers good.
As you enter you are confronted by the main bar with a huge pipe filled with beer. In the actual bar they have set up the cooking and steeping tanks, so during the week, you can watch brewmaster Lena making up a batch.Â
Along the glass-fronted wall are all the fermentation tanks and the malted barley crusher. Look around, you will find a maze of pipes all over the place.
One of the unique selling points is the awesome beer, but also that they make a monthly IPA. I still don’t know what IPA stands for, but I know a new beer every month has to be tried. We tried the new pudding flavor, but they will be bringing a guava one this month, sad I missed that, but I’ll be back to try it.
Oh, and they also serve food, but we went for the beer. Flying Dodo, they really do make great beer
