Who knew such a big wood and furniture factory was actually based in Mauritius!
I spotted the owner from The Chinese Garden in Grand Baie doing some shopping in Super U so figured he must have his Work Access Permits for the restaurant.
What a great place, windmills, towers, submarines (might be a boiler), Mapou trees, the evaporation pots and so much more.
The first time I had boulette I was hooked. Pronounced ‘bullet’. For those that don’t know, boulette is a clear soup, some may say consomme, that is either fish or chicken, but mostly fish. The soup is poured over your choice of dumplings.
This old sugar mill which is currently a nursery for endemic plants has quiet a history, but it wasn’t easy to find!
